Great British Beer Festival Tipsy TopsGreat British Beer Festival is everything taste from local pub to international lounge & American Cask bars; real ale breweries, limited edition brews, one-offs, microbreweries and award-winners together with more than 900 global imports, ciders, perries and real ales. A motley array of vendor food stalls joins the tipple from pub grub sausages to street eats and international Indian, Thai and Japanese treats. GBBF is the UK’s biggest beer festival and one of the largest pubs in the world with tutored tastings from experts & beer writer book signings as well as stage entertainment with classic rock and pop alongside auctions, traditional pub games and Saturday’s Big Pub Quiz at the Olympia, as a mega exhibition centre-turned-pub, in London. |
||
GBBF, offers fans the biggest booze up in the UK, where connoisseurs of the brew and novices come together to share a pint, talk about hops and join in on pub entertainment on a bigger stage. Starting in 1977 in Alexandra palace with 44,000 fans consuming, between them, 150,000 pints over 4-days, the self titled ‘Biggest Pub in the World’, has boomed, moving to the grand exhibition centre of Olympia.
Organised by the Campaign for Real Ales, fans should expect to find no watered down lager or fruity vodka-cider mixes here, there are fan-favourites you’d find in your local, as well as overseas specialties which will more than boggle the mind – with 900 different beers, ciders and perries, there is, undoubtedly, a lot to choose from, which is why, for £2, fans can pick up a Souvenir Festival Guide if they’re feeling unsure as to where to start, or carry on, providing insight into tasting notes, colour and style for every beer available. The guide helps fans to figure out which beer is where, and groups them into locations, from Cornwall ciders to Devonshire ales. Each bar will be categorised by location, so fans can check out the American cask beer all in one, along with similar experiences from the European bars.
If the guide leaves fans falling flat, the Ale Trail will give a sense of direction for a guide of where to go and what to try, where fans can try a range of beer styles and be in for a chance to win some prizes too.
Great British Beer Festival is the definitive pub experience with a beer for every taste!

London weather in August is lovely & warm, often hot, and prone to showers, but since the Great British Bear Fest is held indoors at Olympia, rain won’t put a damper on festival-goers wetting their whistles. |
