FRIGID Fringe Festival, like the fringe of a scarf, breaks OFF of OFF and flies away from conventional forms to encapsulate experimental theatre styles with provocative subjects blending humour, drama, music, nonverbal and abstract creation with personal experiential innovation. FRIGID performances are not frigid hoity-toity plays but edgy breaks from predictable scripts & far from old-fashioned stereotypes. Fringe productions are singular, unperformed elsewhere; unique works of playwrights, directors & performers from independent companies and universities across the US.

Uncensored & Juryless 

The fringe noncurated juryless format, where performers are selected by lottery, allows artists freedom to perform uncensored in front of live audiences, gain exposure/access to influential theatre pros, and profit from their craft via 100% box office returns.

Audiences are treated to affordable presentations of original improve, open mic, stand-up comic cabaret, burlesque, naughty comedy, solo sketches, Vaudeville-style variety acts, feature-length plays (before they become hits), and sometimes sneak-peeks of world-class Edinburgh Fringe shows.

Thanks to Horse Trade Theater Group (member of CAFF) and San Francisco’s EXIT Theatre, Under St. Marks & the Kraine Theater in New York present genre-bending musical comedies, silent slapstick, Shakespearian remakes and experimental works that explore sex, faith, politics, vulgarity, parodies, neurosis, heartbreak, shame, history, biography and murder.
