By night, Eurosonic festival explodes with shows for fans, turning the city centre into a gigantic stage and party zone for music-lovers + an interactive hotspot for pros to discover Europe’s hottest new talent while playing live.
By day, the Noorderslag conference programme features 150+ panels, speakers & workshops, as well as gala parties and pro meetings that aim to develop & promote up-and-coming Dutch and international talent to the movers and shakers of the music, media and production world, including participation by European Production Innovation Conference (EPIC). Eurosonic festival and conference is supported by almost 40 radio stations and 400+ international festivals. A portion of the Noorderslag festival and conference is dedicated exclusively to Dutch pop music with a gala show, concert and awards ceremony taking place every year at De Oosterpoort.
Awards are huge part of the Eurosonic festival, including the European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA) for independent rock, pop and dance artists, Popprijs Pop Award by BV Pop & Buma Cultuur, the European Festival Awards by the European Festival Association recognising top organisers, the Buma Music meets Tech Award, the Pop Media Award for pop music journalists, the IJzeren Podiumdieren (Iron Venue and Festival Animals) by VNPF for best Dutch festival organizers, programmers and stages, and De Veer Award for outstanding contribution to Dutch music.
The European Talent Exchange Programme (ETEP) works closely with Eurosonic Noorderslag to help bridge borders and build music careers – opening doors for 800+ artists from 30 countries at 3,000 shows covering 100+ ETEP festivals.
