Eurockéennes: Rock at Lac de MalsaucyEurockéennes de Belfort is one of Europe’s top rock music festivals that began in 1989 with Elvis Costello, Nina Hagen, Pixies, INXS, Bob Dylan, Ziggy Marley and Noir Désir. The original main stage, La Grande Scène, has rocked with David Bowie, Rage Against the Machine, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Lenny Kravitz, Iggy Pop, Chemical Brothers, Kraftwerk, Arcade Fire, Massive Attack, Phoenix and Arctic Monkeys. Today, 130,000 fans enjoy three days of simultaneous performances on three more giant stages, Green Room, La Plage and Le Club Loggia, with headliners such as The Black Keys, Skrillex, Franz Ferdinand and Robert Plant. Eurockeennes is concerts and camping at a lakeside nature reserve with a beach on Lac de Malsaucy near Belfort France. |

It’s a “petit Woodstock” that’s been shaping European music history since 1989 with performers like David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Ben Harper, The Bloody Beetroots, Moby, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Depeche Mode, Marylin Manson, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Daft Punk, Colplay, The Pixies, Radiohead to name a few of the historic headliners at les Eurockéennes de Belfort. It’s an independent non-profit festival run by Territoire de Musiques who believe music festivals shouldn’t be a luxury for the rich and therefore keep ticket prices low and provide free on-site camping. Eurockéennes also features roving theatrical performers like Bringou - the smallest discothèque in the world, Les Cupidons - who send arrows into festival-goers hearts, rock’n’roll hand puppet shows, comedy on horseback and hilarious stunts that may include machines.
Le rock’n’roll is the undercurrent, yet stages not only pulsate with live rock bands but with avant-garde, underground, electro, reggae and multi-genre world beats that attract 130,000 diverse music-lovers to concerts that resonate simultaneously across four stages. It’s three days of music, eating, drinking, camping, and relaxing on a holiday resort peninsula, Presqu’île du Malsaucy, in the Lac du Malsaucy nature reserve region surrounded by large ponds (or rather small lakes), about 7 km from Belfort city in the Territoire de Belfort of Franche-Comté in France.
Eurockéennes is a European rock festival by a lake on a nature reserve in France!
