Electric Zoo New York has made an indelible mark on the electronic music scene since 2009, bringing to the open-air stages of Randall’s Island Park the world’s best digital talent to enthral over 100,000 annual dance-loving ravers with the sounds and rhythms of the latest EDM, drum & bass, dubstep, techno & avant-garde electronic music sub-genres that continually evolve. From the outset, the zoo attracted producers, DJs and musicians such as Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Luciano, Paco Osuna, Loco Dice, Claude VonStroke, Boys Noize, Tiësto and many other multi-faceted sound makers.
After an unfortunate incident in 2013, Electric Zoo made an effort to continue presenting the event at Randall’s Island, but while issues were being resolved so as to ensure the safety and the level of entertainment EDM enthusiasts expect, organizes decided to satisfy fans with a similar event by introducing the indoor 2-day Electric Zoo Mexico. The inaugural line-up included Knife Party, Hardwell, Carnage, Dubfire, Claude VonStroke, Dillon Francis, Skrillex, Above & Beyond, Alesso, Martin Solveig, amongst others, across 4 stages at the state-of-the-art Azcapotzalco Arena in the Federal District of Mexico City. Whether the zoo’s electricity continues its rhythmic intensity abroad or remains strictly a New York City bash, there’s little doubt that diehard zoo animals will follow its energy wherever it goes.

New York summer weather is notoriously hot with highs above 38°C. However the Electric Zoo Festival is on the first weekend in September so daytime temperatures are pleasant, evenings are cool, and nights can be chilly. Prepare for heat & sun by packing sunscreen and refillable water-bottles, but don’t forget a sweater/jacket for evenings if walking, biking or travelling by ferry back to Manhattan. |
