Artists are electro-techno sound pioneers such as Juan Atkins aka Model 500, DMZ’s Loefah, Mala of Digital Mystikz, Kode9 of Hyperdub, BBC Radio 1 Benji B, and IDM-folktronica producer Daniel Snaith aka Caribou. It’s Dimensions Festival (sister to Outlook Festival) – since 2012 an intimate sonic feast with beach & boat parties – attracting 5,000 discerning electro-music fans at the end of August to a venue like no other, with courtyards, tunnels, moat, dungeon and a spherical pit arena, at the Austro-Hungarian citadel – Fort Punta Christo Pula, Croatia.

Despite being a newcomer to the Croatia festival scene (debuting in 2012), Dimensions has delivered an intelligent line-up that’s included Carl Craig, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Mount Kimbie, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Joy Orbison, Gold Panda, Scuba, Nicolas Jaar & Dave Harrington with Darkside, Juan Atkins & Moritz Von Oswald with Borderland, Underground Resistance with Timeline, Gilles Peterson, Mala Live, Kode9, Nils Frahm, Nina Kraviz, Jackmaster & Oneman, Anthony Shake Shakir, Karizma, Goldie, Motor City Drum Ensemble and hundreds of others who perform on-land, at floating boat parties and at low-key daytime beach parties by the sea.

Deep Sound, Boat Parties & Chilling on the Adriatic

The main features of Dimensions are intense soundsystem extravaganzas with world-class DJs in an ancient abandoned fort, legendary boat parties on the Adriatic, beach bashes and beachside chilling, plus a pre-festival concert at a 2000 year-old Roman amphitheatre in Pula. It’s about nightly underground, electronica, techno, house, dubstep, drum & bass parties, as well as daytime laid-back moments of rejuvenation with sea, sand and sun. Dimensions blends a Croatian seaside holiday with state-of-the-art sound.

Dimensions Festival Dos & Don’ts

Going barefoot, or wearing flip-flops, on the beach and lounge areas is fine, but due to the nature of the ancient fort’s structures, flip-flops, sandals or bare feet are not allowed. You’ll need a pair of closed-toe shoes for events within the fort, and for walking around the ruins, especially at night.
