About

Deer Shed Festival: Family Friendly

Deer Shed’s kid-loving heart rouses curiosity about science, nature and the arts in a space where learning is disguised as fun and discoveries are swathed in a candyfloss carnival ambiance at Baldersby Park. There’s a BigTop overflowing with gut busting family laughter, theatre, shows, circus, dance, workshops, spoken word, literature, storytelling, film, art, sports, and live folk, pop & rock headliners to entertain grownups while drinks are served from nearby bars. It’s the summer’s family friendly festival that keeps adults, youths and kids entertained with hilarious comedians, PG-rated shows freshly plucked from the Edinburgh Fringe, children’s specials including puppetry, theatrical adventures, readings, film presentations, dance extravaganzas, art installations and a musical line-up from Johnny Marr to Scroobius Pip.

DSF Fun Extras

Deer Shed Festival is music and arts plus a weekend of caravanning, camping or glamping, with unlimited tent space amidst fifty acres of parkland in North Yorkshire. Fun extras include Sunday morning runs through Baldersby Park’s wooded bits, a kids play area with eight tons of sand, a funky cardboard city, and a sports field with stuff like space hoppers, hula hoops and blue barrels. It’s a festival designed for real moms & dads who appreciate high chairs in the food tent, a milk warmer in a comfy nursing area, and a soft play zone for festival-goers under five.

Deer Shed Festival is family friendly comedy, music, arts and candyfloss in a park!
