Getting to/from Festival Venues

• The main venue is Estrada Poznańska on Masztalarska street. Estrada Poznańska is situated in Poznan city centre within walking distance from hotels, restaurants, bars and cafes in Old Town, which includes the funky zone around Old Market Square.
• OKO & UCHO Gallery, another venue, is on Masztalarska, right beside Estrada Poznańska.
• Other venues such as Zamek Culture Centre (Kino Pałacowe on Święty Marcin), Kino Muza (Święty Marcin), and Arkadia (Franciszka Ratajczaka), are all about 800 meters from the main venue.

Animator Festival Tickets

Since Animator Festiwal is presented by the city of Poznan, many of the events are free or have a small nominal cost.  Buy tickets for film screenings and concerts that are not free via the Animator Tickets outlet (available immediately prior to events), or get tickets at the door of event locations.

Poznan Accommodation

Animator Festival organizers do not provide camping or recommend accommodation for festival-goers, but Poznan is such a charming city, one of Poland’s most historic ex-capitals, with an Old Market Square (in Polish called Stary Rynek) surrounded by quaint old houses on charming streets that are peppered with B&Bs, private Inns and quaint hotels. There’s no need to worry about where to stay in Poznan.

Two of the funkiest Poznan hotel options are:

• Hotel Brovaria in the heart of Old Market Square
• Hotel Stare Miasto on Rybaki Street not too far from Old Town

Both are just 300m from the main Animator venue, Estrada Poznańska, on Masztalarska.

Animator Festival Amenities

Since Animator Festival is held at theatres, cultural centres, galleries and outdoor venues where film screenings, workshops, discussions and film-related exhibits can unfold, there are no festival-style amenities, no camping facilities, and no areas designated for eating and drinking other than those offered by the venues or nearby restaurants and cafes.

Poznan City Amenities

While there may only be basic services at the festival venues themselves, the city of Poznan has a plethora of quaint restaurants, bars, street side cafés, funky shops (and of course cash machines and public toilets) as well as quirky indoor & outdoor places to relax between events, especially in Old Town. Poznan is a place to explore. There are plenty of clubs, lounges and alfresco places to eat and drink traditional treats. The city has lots of charming private Inns, B&Bs and quaint hotels since it’s a Polish holiday destination.

Between film screenings and concerts, festival-goers will lack for nothing, in fact Poznan, with or without a festival, is a  fun place to spend summer days and nights! Saunter around, taste the meaty-cheesy cream-laden Polish foods, drink Polish beer, vodka and spirits while critiquing films, scripts and music in a vibrant artistic ambiance.

Poznan Summer Festivals

Animator Festival is a two-day affair in mid-July, but Poznan is known as a summer festival hotspot. In fact, it’s a nonstop cultural party town that starts with the Malta performing arts festival and outdoor jazz in June, and culminates with a culinary feast at OFDS (Ogólnopolski Festiwal Dobrego Smaku) in August.
